Oslob

The world's only near-guaranteed, year-round wild whale-shark encounter is the neighbouring municipality up the coast. We send you at first light: golden water, fewer boats. Snorkellers get the iconic overhead view; certified divers descend the slope and meet them eye-to-eye.

The Philippines' first-ever marine protected area (1974). Fin along Nikki's Wall (a vertical drop draped in giant gorgonian fans) then surface onto a powder-white shifting sandbar in ankle-deep turquoise for your interval.

Negros crossing

The birthplace of modern Philippine marine conservation: a no-take sanctuary since 1982, home to 650+ fish species and resident green and hawksbill turtles grazing in 2-5 m. Coconut Point is one of the region's great drift dives.

west coast

The sardine tornado, millions of fish in a slow-rotating silver vortex, lives here permanently, 15-20 m off Panagsama. Add Pescador's Cathedral, a sunlit vertical chimney, plus resident turtles and frogfish.
